Delving deeper into the systems, the XKR sports up-rated springs and dampers and recalibrated Computer Active Technology Suspension (CATS) that facilitate an enhanced riding and handling experience to the driver. The XKR’s lightweight eight-cylinder engine with an Eaton supercharger uses an Electronic Return-less Fuel System (ERFS) and a three-way catalyst exhaust system for lower emissions. The model uses twin air inlets and a Variable Inlet Camshaft Timing (VICT) system that significantly enhance air intake. What’s more, the timing of the inlet camshaft on both banks of the V8 continually adjusts to the engine speed and load using Engine Management System (EMS), to ensure distinct betterments in torque.

Another welcome characteristic of Jaguar XKR is its acoustic quality thanks to its active exhaust, which remains subtle and quiet at gliding speeds. Yet, V8 unfailingly makes a loud purposeful sound whenever under hard acceleration.
Finally, the class-leading six-speed automatic transmission in new Jaguar XKR comprises of steering wheel-mounted paddles and a conventional automatic gearlever that allow the driver to toggle between three automatic or paddle-operated transmission modes. As Jaguar’s transmission maintains the flow of torque throughout the shifting process, gear changes are not only ultra quick, but also remarkably smooth. The manual mode in gear-shifting is activated by simply operating one of the steering wheel-mounted paddles.
