Keeping up the reliable reputation of SRT (Street and Racing Technology) vehicles, the new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 roadster offers balanced overall performance using an outstanding powertrain. With 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 roadster, SRT has launched an 8.4 liter aluminum V-10 engine, all set to astound the enthusiasts with its 600 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. There the roadster has made a straight jump of 90 horsepower from any of its antecedents in the market. From zero to sixty in less than 4 seconds, is the new yardstick of performance that Viper SRT10 roadster has set for its successors. The five colors on offer for its exterior, the four-color combinations for its race-inspired interior and a whole new wheel design has extended an attractive foray into customization options for its takers.

Whilst SRT10 has aimed to instill more excitement to the concept of the ultimate American sports car, the powertrain engineers have not overlooked the stringent regulatory requisites even for a fraction, thereby complying with federal Tier 2, Bin 5 and California’s Low Emissions Vehicle (LEV) 2 mandates. In teamwork with specialists from McLaren Performance Technologies and Ricardo, Inc, the SRT10 roadster engineers have successfully worked on the racer’s basic formula for more power. The roadster is equipped with necessary upgrades to handle the benchmark aluminum engine, to offer more displacement, more efficient breathing and higher engine speed, hand in hand with, improved traction, drivability and durability.

The 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 Roadster channels power through an improved twin disc clutch with smaller diameter, reducing rotating inertia by 18 percent and eventual ease in pedal effort and enhanced engagement feel. Its six-speed manual Tremec T56, alias TR6060, provides 10 percent wider gears, in conjunction with a new synchronizer package that not only avails higher torque capacity, but also reduced shifter travel. The external transmission cooler added to the vehicle is really a pleasant provision.
As regards the exterior, the new larger hood scoop not looks bold and stylish, but also renders the air induction more efficient and keeps the powerful engine cooler. The body colors on offer are Venom Red, Snakeskin Green, Viper Violet, Viper Orange and Bright Blue. Intact is the option of dual painted racing stripes, to be choose from white, black, silver, graphite, blue and red colors. The racing-typical interior design is available in black/red, black/blue, black/slate or black/natural tan combinations.
