The latest Audi R10 TDI, which was unveiled in Munich recently, is going to participate in its first race in the coming American Le Mans Series at Florida on 17th march 2007. It is a 12-hour feat that TDI is going to take part in the opening race of the Le Mans Series.

The new TDI has got a lot of features to be proud of. It has been provided with a lot of modifications to its prototype LM P1 and is offered as one of the successfully tuned series of sports cars of the world. With its predecessor’s victory in the last year, the new TDI has come up with more power with additional modifications to it.

The fuel-cell volume has been reduced to 81 liters from the earlier 90 liters. The high-tech electronic system that was attached to the engine has been optimized with the help of the technology from Bosch. These important modifications, along with other performance-oriented improvements, give more strength to the new TDI to surpass the new challenges on the road.

Though the power is maintained at 650hp as in the earlier models, there is much improvement in the power curve. Thanks to the advanced engine features.

Other important modifications are the reduction in the friction and weight on the powertrains. The diesel particle filters are made smaller and lighter. There are also improvements done on the tyre and suspension with the help of the technological additions from Michelin.

Audi has maintained its name as the unbeaten American endurance classic since the rise of the 21st century.
