Adrian Hallmark-the head of VW in America, worked long and hard in collaboration with Wolfgang-the product chief, to increase the number of VWs in the U.S. but alas, all his efforts were in vain because just as he was readying himself to taste sweet victory, this hopes crashed and Wolfgang vanished-internal politics, they say.
Another development is that BMW is planning to go all the way with its new model-BMW X6. They are looking at as many as 40,000 units; each priced at a cool 50,000 Bejamins. Is this a gamble which will leave them swimming in dollars or their own tears? Only time will tell.
