The new Brabus Widestar, a wide-track version of the Mercedes ML 63, was showcased this year in the Geneva Motor Show.

The wide-track concept is available for all Mercedes models. The new version of the ML 63 presents an elegant appearance and super performance with more functionality. The new concept has the Monoblock E 23-inch forged wheels and Brabus B 63 S performance tuning that results in a 550-hp/404.8kw output. The monoblock E wheels contribute towards the wide-track function of the vehicle.

The width of the ML 63 is increased by four centimeters with the added fender flares to both the front and back wheels. Another significant tuning is done on the standard Airmatic suspension. By using the Brabus control, the ride height of the vehicle is reduced by about 30 millimeters resulting better sporty performance.

The Widestar body has got additional modifications too. The front and the rear fascias are completely changed to give it a new appearance. There are add-on parts on the doors and the rocker panels too.

The performance improvements are multifold. The new Widestar can attain the sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 4.9 seconds, and the top speed is increased from 250 km/h to 275 km/h. The high-performance brake system features a 12-piston aluminum-fixed calipers and cross-drilled 380×36-mm discs on the front axle. An excellent braking power is achieved with this feature along with the 355×28-mm brake discs and 6-piston fixed calipers at the rear.

The Widestar really had a grand debut in the 2007 Geneva Auto Show.

The latest Audi R10 TDI, which was unveiled in Munich recently, is going to participate in its first race in the coming American Le Mans Series at Florida on 17th march 2007. It is a 12-hour feat that TDI is going to take part in the opening race of the Le Mans Series.

The new TDI has got a lot of features to be proud of. It has been provided with a lot of modifications to its prototype LM P1 and is offered as one of the successfully tuned series of sports cars of the world. With its predecessor’s victory in the last year, the new TDI has come up with more power with additional modifications to it.

The fuel-cell volume has been reduced to 81 liters from the earlier 90 liters. The high-tech electronic system that was attached to the engine has been optimized with the help of the technology from Bosch. These important modifications, along with other performance-oriented improvements, give more strength to the new TDI to surpass the new challenges on the road.

Though the power is maintained at 650hp as in the earlier models, there is much improvement in the power curve. Thanks to the advanced engine features.

Other important modifications are the reduction in the friction and weight on the powertrains. The diesel particle filters are made smaller and lighter. There are also improvements done on the tyre and suspension with the help of the technological additions from Michelin.

Audi has maintained its name as the unbeaten American endurance classic since the rise of the 21st century.

The TechArt Automobile design has come up with one of the wonderful sports car designs of the year. The model is based on the Porsche 911 Turbo of the 997 model series.

There are considerable modifications done to the engine. The new GT Street is powered with a 3.6-liter twin flat engine that is capable of producing 630 hp at 6,800rpm. The torque increases from 620Nm to 820 Nm at 4,500rpm. Other engine modifications include two VTG turbochargers, intercoolers, a new air box fitted with sport air filter, high-performance manifolds, sports exhaust system, and high-power catalysts.

With all these modifications, the GT Street is ready to be called as one of the super sports cars of the world. The performance speed of 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and 200 km/h after 10.9 seconds and the top speed of 345 km/h is enough to certify its strength among the existing sports cars of the world.

The external modifications are aptly done in order to suit its function. The body of the GT Street is made by providing complete aerodynamic down force and minimum drag. The design, especially that of the front fascia, not only adds a cutting-edge appearance to the car but also provides a comfortable environment to the engine. The retractable carbon-fiber splitter is capable of producing a down force towards the axle and thus enhances more air supply to the engine.

The daytime running lights and the fog lights not only add attraction to it, but also provide safety in dangerous driving conditions.

The Lancer Evolution IX MR (Mitsubishi Racing) is the last in the Lancer Evolution that started in the 1992. Only one version of the IX MR is available now. The carbon fiber vortex generator is fitted at the rear. The Lancer Evolution FQ-360 is called as the most affordable supercar. It has the capacity to sprint 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 157 mph.

Compared to its competitors, this is a better performance for a better price. For example, The Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, which costs almost double that of Lancer Evolution FQ-360, takes about 4.8 seconds to sprint 0-60mph. Only 200 units of Lancer Evolution IX MR FQ-360 are available now from the Mitsubishi UK.

The Ryuga is the second in Mazda’s series of three concept cars that are unveiled in this year’s autoshow season.

The Ryuga concept has been greatly inspired by art. It has got incredible sense of graceful movement with its gorgeous designs. The flowing red is an indication of its sanguine performance on the roads. The twisting design of the pokes of the wheel adds the sense of its revolutionary spirit. The wavy pattern on both the sides of the body is an inspiration gained from the karesansui, the Japanese dry gardens.

The exterior red of Ryuga reflects a varying hue according to the incident light. Its shades vary from the dark red to blue and then to yellow. The headlamp reflects the glitter of the morning dew. The advanced LED and the fluorescent technology give the new concept a cutting-edge feature that is capable of challenging the historical designs in the automobile world.

2007 Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept (AASCC) is ready to take over its predecessor Acura NSX. With more additions in terms of the technological and performance features, the Honda Motor Co. Ltd., offers this exotic choice for those who love to take challenges on the road.

The 2007 AASCC had its debut in the 2007 North American International Auto Show. The advanced features of this model include the powerful front-mounted V-10 engine and a rear – wheel drive system based on the Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD). Like the last year, Mazda has got its triplets for this year Autoshow too. The Nagare Concept is the first in the series of the 2007 season. The word Nagare means ‘flow’ in Japanese. The name is aptly given to this cute model because of its flowing appearance even when it is still. The sandy color and the attractive stripes on its body remind you the merging of the wavy beaches with the horizon.

Honda is synonymous with innovation. The Nagare has got the newest style of seating arrangement. The driver seat is located in the center, directly below the highest point of the roof. Three additional seats are provided behind in the form of lounge.

Franz von Holzhausen, Director of Design, Mazda North American Operations’ (MNAO), is the man behind this revolutionary concept from Mazda. According to him, Nagare is one of the latest examples to prove Mazda’s enduring driving spirit.

The new concept is a result of the detailed study of motion and effect of the natural elements. The windy sand of the beach, the billowing blue waves, and the flowing hot lava- these natural elements are embedded in harmony in the new Mazda concepts’ creation.

The concern for the Nagare future models will be its rearward slope of the windshield and the cabin. The sharp front might raise a concern over the safety standards that are now prevailing on the roads.

However, according to Laurens van den Acker, the newly appointed global design director, Nagare is just an indication of the future generation of the Mazda vehicle. The harmonious celebration of technological skills and the proportional features of the vehicle is the proof of its future value.

Today all that you get to see is bumper to bumper traffic, each car trying to get an inch ahead and muzzle its way past the scores of other cars.
